The Water Conservation Plan Guidelines.
The guidelines contain step-by-step approaches and conservation measures that can be used by water system planners to develop and implement plans for water conservation. Strategic use of water conservation can help extend the value and life of infrastructure assets used in both water supply and wastewater treatment, while also extending the beneficial investment of public funds through the SRF and other programs. Provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Updated March 2008.
Reducing Stormwater Costs through Low Impact Development (LID) Strategies and Practices
Publication Number EPA 841-F-07-006, December 2007
This report provides information to cities, counties, states, private-sector developers and others on the costs and benefits of using Low Impact Development (LID) strategies and practices to help protect and restore water quality. LID practices are innovative practices that manage stormwater close to its source by mimicing a site's predevelopment hydrology and use design techniques that infiltrate, evapotranspirate, and reuse runoff. Information provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Landscape Irrigation and Florida Friendly Design Standards(December 2006).
The 2004 Florida Legislature directed Florida’s water management districts to work with interested parties to develop landscape irrigation and Florida-Friendly design standards for new construction (section 373.228, F.S.). Local governments are to use the standards and guidelines when developing landscape irrigation and Florida-Friendly ordinances. The Committee on Landscape Irrigation and Florida-Friendly Design Standards convened and developed the standards. They are published in a booklet called Landscape Irrigation and Florida Friendly Design Standards.
