Guana Tolomato Matanzas Reserve
Coastal Training Program
The Coastal Training program provides up-to-date scientific information and skill-building opportunities to individuals responsible for making decisions that affect coastal resources. Through this program, Reserves provide knowledge and tools needed by decision-makers to address critical resource management issues of concern to local communities
Mangroves
Coastal Training Programs nationally have reached over 6,000 people during more than 40,000 contact hours of programs including trainings, workshops, seminars and presentations. Participants benefit by increased knowledge and networking in a multidisciplinary setting, often with Reserve-based field activities.

Beyond science-based knowledge and skills, the CTP can help leaders make more informed decisions affecting the health of coastal resources, understand a range of perspectives in order to resolve coastal conflicts, and build broader constituencies for coastal stewardship.
